Un-awarded financial tendering bids exempt from disclosure under FOI Print E-mail

The Information Commissioner recently released her 15th Decision in which she upheld the Ministry of Finance, Tourism and Development’s decision to exempt records from disclosure under section 17(b)(i) of the Freedom of Information Law. The records at issue in the matter pertained to the Government’s tender for long-term financing conducted in July 2010. The tender under review ended without the naming of a successful bidder. It was later reissued and awarded to the Cohen and Cohen group. Read More Here

Legal Aid Review ordered released by Information Commissioner Print E-mail

On Friday, 29 July 2011, the Information Commissioner Mrs. Jennifer Dilbert issued her most recent decision in which she ordered the Ministry of Finance, Tourism and Development to give partial access to a report prepared by the Legal Aid Review Committee in March 2010. The Ministry had originally deferred the release of the record and also sought to exempt its disclosure stating that it would reveal the Cabinet’s deliberative process. Read More Here.

On 15 June 2011, the Information Commissioner, Mrs. Jennifer Dilbert, issued her twelfth formal decision in which she upheld a public authority’s decision to categorize a number of requests from a single applicant as vexatious. Read more here

Fire Service Review ordered released under FOI Print E-mail

On 4 May 2011, the Information Commissioner, Mrs. Jennifer Dilbert, issued her eleventh formal decision. She overturned the public authority’s initial decision to exempt from release a copy of a report, entitled “Work Environment Review of the CI Fire Service Department”. Read more here.
