Overview
In Illinois, companies must file annual reports. The fee is $75 for businesses and LLCs, while LPs and LLPs pay $250 each. Payment can be made by mail with a check or online with a credit card.
The annual report includes information like the company’s legal name, registered agent, addresses, and manager names. The state sends a notice and form to the agent’s address about 6 weeks before the due date. The report can be filed online or by mail.
Deadlines and Penalties
The filing deadline is before the company’s anniversary month. For example, if a company was formed on June 15, 2024, it should file by June 1, 2025. If the filing is late, there is a penalty of 10% of the tax due per filing. LLCs are subject to an additional fee of $100 if they file late.
Filing Confirmation
To confirm the filing, companies should mail two copies of the annual report and include a self-addressed envelope. The state will return one stamped copy for confirmation.
