Festive Occasions and Chef’s Hat
Traditionally, Pancake Day was all about using up all the eggs and butter and rich foods before the period of fasting. For today’s version you will need an A4 sheet of paper, recycled tissue paper (mine came from the inside of my new trainers).
You can easily make a paper chef hat with white cardstock, white crepe paper, some tape, and a ruler. Start by measuring around the child’s head with a soft tape measure, add 2 centimeters to the length, and mark the length on a sheet of white cardstock. Cut out the strip of cardstock and fold it in half. Then, create a loop with the cardstock and tape the ends together.
Creative Variations
With a sheet of cardstock and a paper cup, you can make yourself a dandy top hat! There are also ways to make pilgrim hats and elaborate Mad Hatter’s top hats.
