Certification Process Overview
The process takes only 5 minutes to complete. The samples of saliva are delivered to the lab overnight and tested the same day they arrive. While a negative result is provided within 24 hours, a positive outcome goes through confirmation testing and is available in 24–72 hours.
CNSC Exam Information
The Certification Examination for Nutrition Support Clinicians is composed of a maximum of 250 multiple-choice questions with a total allowed testing time of four hours.
Preparation Tips and Exam Results Timeline
When you first encounter the material, the exam can seem daunting, so give yourself ample time to prepare. I gave myself four months to prepare, studying for about one hour a day.
It is estimated to take 135-200 study hours to pass the CSC Exam, depending on background. This estimate is accurate.
I wanted to wait 1 year to take CNSC Exam to have experience as a dietitian. With COVID, I am home more often, which allowed me to dedicate more time to studying.
Exam results are sent via email and U.S. mail to exam candidates four to six weeks after the last day of testing for the testing period.

The Civil Services Exam is not very difficult. It is the planning and execution that students often lag. If you pass the exam, no other requirements stand between you and entering civil service.
You can check the status of a civil service exam by calling, logging into your account, or searching open data. Scores remain active for four years.
Other Exam Results and Timelines
IELTS results take 3-5 days if computer-based. Paper-based results take longer. There is an option to view provisional results 24 hours later, but these could change as unofficial.
The NCLEX is the final nursing exam before licensure. Results take six weeks, but you can get unofficial results more quickly. While waiting, check progress and continue reviewing material.
