Overview of Cornershop
Cornershop is a grocery delivery platform allowing customers to order products for delivery. Workers shop for and deliver these orders, earning money from Cornershop plus tips. In Chile and Mexico, where Cornershop first launched in 2015, some workers report earning up to 48,000 pesos monthly.
How Cornershop Works
Uber acquired Cornershop in 2021. Customers place orders through the app. Orders go to workers, who shop and deliver them, getting paid weekly via bank transfer on Thursdays. Income depends on factors like location, hours, efficiency. Average hourly earnings are reported around $16-18, before or after expenses like gas and maintenance.
Earning Potential and Tips
You can earn around $15 to $25 per hour with enough batches. Tips are extra. A video shows earning about $300 in 15 hours, around $20 per hour, with more possible with tips. Collecting groceries takes time. But you generally earn more per delivery than with DoorDash, and spend less on gas.
Comparison with Instacart
Instacart has higher earning potential than Cornershop in most markets because it’s more popular. Instacart also works with more stores, and you can deliver prescriptions. Instacart instant pay lets you cash out instantly for a small fee. In short, Instacart is better for making money. But Cornershop is a nice secondary option for more gigs.
