- Trampolines were invented by George Nissen in 1936. The word "trampoline" comes from the Spanish word "trampolĂn," which means diving board.
- Nissen invented the trampoline in the 1930s with his coach using scrap steel and tire tubes.
- In 1934, Larry Griswold and George Nissen expanded the trampoline design using canvas and springs.
- In 1936, to market it, Nissen rented a kangaroo named Victoria to jump together in New York’s Central Park.
