Honduras – A Coffee Powerhouse
Coffee exporting from Honduras started in the seventeen hundreds. The coffee from Honduras is prized worldwide for its sweet aromas and rich flavor. There are six coffee regions in Honduras contributing unique tastes. Altitudes over 3900 feet grow slower coffee, acquiring a fuller flavor. Bourbon, Caturra, and Catuai varietals comprise ninety percent of Honduran coffee. High altitude and fertile soil enable farmers to grow excellent varieties. Infrastructure lacks for high-quality coffee production with seventy-five percent of mountainous land. The climate, elevation, and soil make the coffee extraordinarily good.
