To get your reseller permit, you just need to fill out an application form and submit it to your state’s Department of Taxation and Finance. Reseller permits are free.

Use your reseller permit to buy only items you resell. Resell those items and collect sales tax. Submit that tax to the Department. Misuse may result in criminal penalties.
You can use your permit in other states if you meet their requirements. In Washington, retailers can’t accept out-of-state resale certificates. To use a Washington reseller permit, register for a Washington sales tax permit. This requires collecting and remitting sales tax.

Renewal depends on if the Department automatically issues permits. If not, pay tax and deduct it or request a refund.
