Tying Balloons
- Tie first 2 balloons with half knot by necks. Cross one neck over the other, wrap around twice. Tie in 2s and 3s to form clusters. Thread onto string to make banners or arches.
- 11" latex filled helium lasts 12-20 hours, 2-3 days with Hi-Float. Foil lasts approximately 5-7 days. Air-filled balloons last for weeks but don’t float. Prevent deflating by spraying with hairspray mist to keep the air from escaping. Store balloons in a bag until the event to prevent droopy half-deflated balloons.
Inflating and Durability
- Start by inflating the balloon with a pump. Pinch the end to stop air from escaping, twist to make a loop. Tie basic knots and create advanced shapes for parties. It’s a fun, creative way to add excitement.
- Properly inflate the balloon; the tail shape should be good without a "pear" shape near the tie. Overinflating may cause easier bursting later. Tie the knot so the decoration lasts for more than hours after blowing up.
Balloon Physics
- Air molecules inside and outside the balloon have the same energy and collide into the balloon. When the bottle is heated, the air molecules inside move faster.
