Origin of Dave & Buster’s
Dave & Buster’s is an American restaurant and entertainment business founded in 1982 in Dallas by David Corriveau and James "Buster" Corley. Corley previously operated a bar called "Buster’s" next door to Corriveau’s saloon and game parlor "Cash McCool’s" in Little Rock, Arkansas. After opening Dave & Buster’s together, Corriveau and Corley operated as co-CEOs.
Dave & Buster’s Acquisition and Stores
Dave & Buster’s Inc agreed to sell its chain of restaurant-arcades to Oak Hill Capital Partners for $570 million. As of January 2021, Dave & Buster’s had 137 stores, most in California with 16. Some locations have designated smoking areas or patios. Food and drinks not served by Dave & Buster’s are prohibited.
