Cleaning Windows with Newspaper
Newspaper is better for cleaning windows than using rags or paper towels. However, wet newspaper can leave black smudges of ink all over window frames. While newspaper is effective, it is not foolproof for achieving great looking windows.
To clean with newspaper, prepare a cleaning solution by mixing equal parts water and vinegar. Choose a soft newspaper printed in soy ink for the best results. The high absorbency of newsprint helps in cleaning windows by absorbing the liquid instead of just pushing it around.
Techniques for Cleaning Windows with Newspaper
Before cleaning your windows, fold the newspaper properly to form a thick pad that is easy to grip. Avoid exposing the printer’s ink to prevent smudging on your hands and the window. Wipe the windows with a circular motion using the newspaper until they are streak-free and shining. The newspaper also helps in absorbing extra liquid for quick drying without leaving water spots or stains.
