Starting Procedures for John Deere Tractors
- Sit in the driver’s seat.
- Make sure the transmission is in neutral.
- Insert the ignition key and turn it to the "on" position.
- Wait for the dash lights to come on.
- Pull the choke if the engine is warm.
- Hold the brake pedal, move the throttle lever to the "Start" position, and turn the key to start the tractor.
Starting a John Deere Riding Mower
- Sit on the seat and ensure the parking brake is set.
- Insert the key and turn it to start the engine.
- Pull out the choke if necessary.
- Allow the engine to warm up, then lower the mower deck.
- Push the blade lever to engage the cutting blades.
Stopping a John Deere Riding Mower
- Move the throttle to idle.
- Disengage the mower deck lever.
- Set the parking brake.
- Turn the ignition key to stop the engine.
- Remove the key when not in use.
