Knockback Enchantment
Knockback is an enchantment that increases knockback distance. It can be applied to swords up to Level 2. Axes can have knockback if used with enough force. Shields also offer knockback. An axe does more damage than a sword. Netherite axes have slightly more DPS than swords. Fire Aspect can be applied to axes. The Picksaw is one of the best axes due to its speed and pickaxe ability, despite less axe power than some axes. Knockback sticks allow pushing enemies away to gain an upper hand. Swords do more knockback if fully geared.
Obtaining Knockback
You can obtain knockback enchantments by fishing. Head out into open water and use your Fishing Rod to catch items with Knockback enchantments. You can also trade with villagers; Librarians are your go-to for trading Emeralds for enchantments even at Novice levels.
Knockback is one of the best enchantments to counter the creeper as it will push the creeper back, causing it to explode away from the player.
Enchanting Axes
Yes, there are several useful enchantments that can be applied to axes in Minecraft. Enchantments like Sharpness, Smite, Bane of Arthropods, Efficiency, Silk Touch, Fortune, Unbreaking, and Mending can significantly enhance an axe’s performance.
To enchant an axe, craft an Enchanting Table with 4 obsidian, 2 diamonds, and 1 book. Interact with the table while holding the axe and spend experience levels to apply enchantments. An Anvil can also combine enchanted books onto a single axe, though some enchantments can’t coexist, like Silk Touch and Fortune.
Enchanted axes can be particularly useful for both combat and resource harvesting, depending on the applied enchantments.
