Does Nestle Still Own Pure Life?

Brand Overview

Nestlé Pure Life is a brand of bottled water from Nestlé Waters globally and BlueTriton Brands in North America. The brand was first established in 1998 in Pakistan and is now available in 21 countries. In early April 2021, the sale of Nestlé Waters North America’s bottling operations, including Nestlé Pure Life, to One Rock Capital Partners LLC and Metropoulos & Co. was concluded.

Parent Company and Ownership

Pure Life is produced by Nestle Company, a Swiss multinational food and drink processing conglomerate. The brand was acquired by Nestle in 2000 and launched in Europe that same year.

Environmental Impact and Community Concerns

Nestle extracts water for its Pure Life brand from a source in the village of Aberfoyle, Ontario, under the jurisdiction of the City of Guelph. A local advocacy group called Wellington Water Watchers has expressed concern about the water extraction.

In Canada, Nestlé has been criticized for bottling water in poor regions, potentially draining natural water sources.

Quality and Certification

Nestlé Pure Life’s factory in Ayutthaya was certified, emphasizing the company’s commitment to sustainable water management and environmental conservation.

Additional Information

Nestlé generates revenue primarily through its food and beverage products, with additional revenue from pet care, health science, and skin health divisions. Moreover, the company earns income through licensing, partnerships, and joint ventures.
