Registration with COID
To get a letter of good standing from the Department of Labour, first register your business with COID. You can register directly or use a COID service. The process takes 3 months with Labour, or 25 days with a COID service.
Benefits of the Letter
The letter ensures your company can claim compensation for employees’ work injuries. If registered, when employees are injured, compensation is paid from the Compensation Fund trust, avoiding employer liability.
Claiming UIF
You can claim UIF for 12 months if you have full credit days. The compensation is calculated based on earnings.
