Can I Change the Theme of My Site on Wix? Changing Your Wix Website Layout

Adjusting Site Design

To customize your Wix website layout, use the Site Design panel and select the Themes tab to choose color and text themes. Here, you can also change backgrounds and transitions. Review your new theme with a preview before applying the changes.

For more detailed page designs, adjust settings like color, corners, and borders to match your content. Click the Design tab to choose from pre-designed themes or create a custom one. To apply a pre-designed theme, click the Apply button.

Template Limitations and Workarounds

Unfortunately, Wix does not allow you to switch the template of a published site. To change the design, you’ll need to recreate your entire site using a different template. Log into your Wix account, go to the My Sites page, click Edit Site, and then click Change Site Design to browse and select a new template.

If you manage multiple sites, select the website you want to edit by clicking the My Sites button and choosing one. When creating a new site with a different template, you’ll need to manually transfer customizations and content, which gives you control over the design.

Note that while content and data can be transferred when switching Wix templates, design elements will need to be recreated.

Customization and Support

To match the new template, right-click the old header, choose Edit Text, and select a new header text style. You can also add e-commerce capabilities with an online store that allows users to request quotes for items in their shopping cart.

Wix offers customer support for web development questions and provides an intuitive interface for creating stunning websites. Our design teams frequently update our template selection with fully customizable and free-to-use designs.

To change your site’s design and content, open the Wix Editor. You can add, delete, or rearrange elements such as text, images, videos, and apps. However, it’s not possible to remove saved colors; select new ones to replace them.
