How Houses Get Names?
Houses can get names in a few ways. Historically, large houses owned by wealthy families were often given names related to the family or local area.
Today, regular homeowners often give their houses names too, to add personality and distinction. While numbers are still used for identification, especially by emergency services, house names let owners put their personal stamp on a property. Legally, you can change an existing house name or give a new name by notifying your local council.
