- In Maryland, you must be 21 or older to buy cannabis at a dispensary for recreational use. This new law allows residents 21 and up to use cannabis products. But you cannot use them everywhere. You must purchase products from licensed dispensaries.
Purchasing and Possession Limits
- Adults aged 21 and older may buy cannabis at dispensaries in Maryland and DC without a medical card. In DC, fill out a form certifying medical use. In Maryland, recreational users 21 and older may have up to 1.5 ounces of cannabis flower, 12 grams of vape products, two plants, or any product with up to 750 milligrams of THC.
Fees and Requirements for Dispensaries
- The application fee to open a dispensary is $4,000. The licensing fee is $80,000. Renew it every two years. Expect around $500,000 in startup costs. Complete the registration process to get your card. Then you can buy it.
