Granite Drying Process
Granite typically takes about 12 hours to dry before applying sealer. This assumes normal room temperature drying methods. Optimum sealing conditions are at or above room temperature. Granite is a natural stone that is very hard. It generally dries quickly because it isn’t very porous and water doesn’t penetrate the layer of rock as much. The absorption capacity of granite is determined by calculating the difference between the fully dry and fully saturated weights.
Factors Affecting Granite Performance
Just like any other coating, Granite Grip will be subject to some factors affecting its performance quality. Ultraviolet radiation can influence Granite Grip’s lifespan.
Granite vs. Limestone
After it rains, it is always a good choice to go climbing on granite cliffs as they dry relatively fast. Granite has abrasive holds found in cracks. Limestone is usually solid but can be slippery when wet.
