Stripe announced that it has acquired TaxJar, a cloud-based suite of tax services, which helps businesses comply with sales tax requirements. TaxJar was founded eight years ago with the goal to solve sales tax compliance.
With this acquisition, all 200 employees of TaxJar will join Stripe, and existing TaxJar customers won’t see any immediate changes. Their products will continue to run and be available as normal.
TaxJar is a provider of tax services, including tools for calculating, reporting, and filing sales taxes. Although no price has been made public, TaxJar was valued at $179 million in 2019.
The addition of TaxJar to Stripe will help businesses with sales tax rates at checkout, automatically submitting tax returns, and producing jurisdiction reports.
To set up sales tax on your Wix account, log in and go to ‘Settings’. Click ‘Taxes’ and select ‘Enable Sales Tax’. Enter the sales tax rate.
