Huda Beauty is a cosmetics line launched in 2013 by Huda Kattan. In 2018, all launched products brought in at least $200 million in annual revenue. In 2016, Huda Kattan was awarded the Digital Innovator of the Year award in the category of prestige beauty by Women’s Wear. In 2017, Huda Beauty’s false eyelashes won the Best False Lashes award.
Huda’s experience in the beauty industry has allowed her to expand the range. “Working as a makeup artist, I wasn’t satisfied with the style and quality of lashes that were available at the time so I often ended up stacking and customizing the lashes myself to suit the client’s eye shape. After receiving several messages from people wanting to buy the lashes I had customized, my sister Mona suggested I start my own line.
Huda’s Influence and Recognition
Huda Beauty has over 40.9 million followers on Instagram and over 3.78 million subscribers on YouTube. Kattan’s own net worth is $610 million. She was chosen as one of “The 25 Most Influential People on the Internet” by Time magazine in 2017, as well as listed as one of The Richest Self-Made Women by Forbes. Likewise in March 2021, Huda Beauty supported food drive initiatives such as 100 Million Meals.
Huda’s Entrepreneurial Journey
Kattan started Huda Beauty with her two sisters in 2013 when she couldn’t find false eyelashes to buy. Miserable in her finance job, Kattan quit to become a makeup artist and launched a blog in 2010.
