The average print pixel size for a billboard is 19,008 x 8,640 pixels, totaling 164.2 megapixels with a 2.2 aspect ratio. With bleed, a billboard is 19,296 x 8,928 pixels, equaling 172.3 megapixels.
- Aspect Ratio: When designing different sizes, consider the aspect ratio, which is the relationship between width and height. A 14 x 48 feet billboard has a 3:1 aspect ratio.
Design Tips
On the placeholder layer, create a rectangle approximating the billboard canvas size. Simplicity is key to great design. Make text large and use bold, non-serif fonts.
