Paintball Production and Ingredients
The production of paintballs does not need any expensive materials or equipment. Paintballs are spherical gelatin capsules containing primarily polyethylene glycol, other non-toxic and water-soluble substances, and dye.
Method 1: Making it From Scratch
Got a lot of time? For this method, you’ll need water, corn-type oil, flour, gelatin, and a mold for paintballs. As for the fillers, you’ll need non-toxic paint.
Ingredients and Making Process
Paintballs are spherical gelatin capsules containing primarily polyethylene glycol, other non-toxic and water-soluble substances, and dye. The ingredients in paintball dye are food coloring, mineral oils, calcium, iodine, and polyethylene glycol. The manufacturing process remains relatively unchanged since the 1980s.
The first step is mixing the shell ingredients of gelatin, water, and glycerin until liquid. The shells are then filled with a mixture of water, dye, and polyethylene glycol. The two halves are sealed to form a complete paintball.
Paintballs contain non-toxic, food-grade ingredients like polyethylene glycol to thicken, water-soluble substances, sweetener, and dye. The difference between impact and standard paintballs is size – .50 vs .60 caliber. Real paint is not used as it’s hard to clean off trees.
Why Paintballs Are Fun and Safe
Paintball is an interactive game that allows you to shoot at each other and compete in paintballs. It is a great activity for families and can even be enjoyed by professionals like architects and dentists. Paintball is very fun as well as poses no health risks; paintballs are made of paper and heated to create an aerosol.
