How to Properly Use and Address a Card
Sign your full name on the signature bar of the card using a felt-tipped pen before using your credit card at the store. Do not leave the back of your card blank.
You can identify if your card is Visa or Visa Debit by looking on the top right side of the card. A card’s first digit also indicates the type – Discover card’s is 6, Mastercard’s is 5, and American Express card numbers start with 3.
When addressing a card, open it and start with “Dear” plus the recipient’s name. You can write a closing like “Love” at the end. If writing inside, start at the top. You can write on the left side for longer messages.
