Under current Oregon law, if you are 21 years old or older, you can grow up to 4 plants per household. But they must be kept out of public view. Growing between 4 and 8 plants can lead to fines and jail. Those under 18 can’t possess, purchase or use cannabis.
Oregon 4-Plant Limit Regulations
Oregon law allows growing up to 4 marijuana plants per household. The plants must be kept out of public view. Growing more than 8 plants is a felony. There is no fine for up to 4 homegrown plants. But more than 4 plants can lead to fines and jail time.
Oregon Grow License Regulations
The site registration fee for grows over 12 plants is $200. You must pay this fee if growing for others, growing in a location besides your residence, cultivating over 12 plants, or transferring product to processors or distributors.
You can be exempted from the fee if you meet all these criteria: only growing for yourself, in your residence, with 12 or fewer mature plants. Federal law prohibits growing within 1000 feet of a school. So outdoor grows should be beyond this distance or grown indoors. Making concentrates at home can be dangerous and is generally not recommended.
