Registering Your Business
To register a business name in Michigan, you’ll need to register your business with the state. You can form an LLC or corporation, or file for a “doing business as” (DBA) name with your state’s business division.
To use a different name to conduct business, file for a Michigan assumed name — also called a DBA name. Check name availability to ensure it’s unique and not an existing domain. Learn LLC and corporation naming rules.
