Origin of Zumba
In 1986 in Colombia, Alberto “Beto” Perez substituted Latin music when he forgot the usual aerobics music. The improvised Latin dance class was a hit. This later became known as Zumba.

- Zumba is a trademarked name referring to classes by Zumba Fitness, LLC. Instructors undergo company training before teaching Zumba. Zumba is cardiovascular activity, building stamina and burning calories. You don’t need to be a great dancer to feel welcome in class.
