Plant Names in the Community
Does anyone name their plants? I smoked some bud one night years ago and when I woke up the next day, I found masking tape stickers on all my plants with their new names. I also name plants, consciously, after friends and loved ones who have passed away.
I recently got two new little plants and after much deliberation have decided to name them Cecil and Carmen. Does anyone else name their plants? I’d love to hear your plants names or just names you think would be really cool for plants. Future plant baby names I have lined up.
I don’t count inventory numbers as ”naming.” Every plant in the house gets a tag with genus and species name and any cultivar name if it has one in addition to the inventory number tag. This is just good bookkeeping.
The pronoun anyone (and anybody) is singular. It needs a singular verb. We can create the singular form of a verb by adding -s to it in the present tense. It also uses forms such as does, has, was, is.

I’m guessing it is a shrub in the honeysuckle family. It is a volunteer whose seed was likely deposited by a bird. It had one woody stem last summer which I cut to the ground. All the growth in the pictures has occurred this growing season. It is a young plant that I have not seen flower and fruit.
