Setting Up Your Reiki Room
To create a calm space, use a massage table or reclining chair. Play soft music and light candles. You may want cupboards to store supplies like towels out of sight.
In a session, the client lies down fully clothed while the practitioner uses hand movements to touch or hover over the body. Reiki does not require disrobing or touching private areas. Clients need not identify a specific problem beforehand since the energy flow promotes general well-being.
Reiki Training and Preparation
Training is open to all ages and backgrounds. Consider volunteering at a hospital or clinic to gain experience. Use a private room in your home or rent space from a wellness provider. Avoid alcohol, coffee or sugary drinks for 3 hours before a session. Studies show Reiki activates the nervous system to reduce pain, depression, and anxiety through deep relaxation and enhanced energy flow.
Understanding Reiki
Reiki reaches all levels of existence and strives to bring these differing levels into balance. It can be beneficial even for those who have not previously focused on mind and body health. The practice balances the body, reduces stress, and aids healing through touch, and the practitioner’s energies are never depleted.
Reiki has no known side effects and is completely safe. It reconnects you emotionally, helping you let go of what no longer serves you, which may result in peace of mind, anxiety reduction, mental clarity, increased attention span, balance, and increased self-esteem.
Reiki Treatment and Costs
Depending on length, the cost of Reiki treatment can vary from $25 to $100 per session. For serious health challenges, four sessions over four days are often recommended. Remember to relax, eat, and hydrate before your first session.
Reiki Accessories and Practices
Jenna Finley, a Reiki master, suggests keeping root chakra items close at night to remind you of how to feel and think. You may also want to keep Reiki or Angel photos or statues, place Reiki symbols near your altar, or make a collage of all symbols, Chakra positions, and Kanji alphabets to provide natural grounding when doing energy work.
