Windows 10 Editions
- Windows 10 Home costs $139 and is suited for a home computer or gaming.
- Windows 10 Pro costs $199.99 and is suited for businesses or large enterprises.
Finding Your Windows License Type
To find out whether your Windows 10 license is OEM, Retail, or Volume:
- Open Start.
- Search for Command Prompt, right-click the top result, run as administrator.
- Type the command to determine the license type:
slmgr /dli
Windows 10 OEM License
Buying an OEM license for Windows 10 is legal but requires some basic computer skills. OEM licenses cannot be transferred to another PC or upgraded. This makes it difficult to transfer them to another machine.
