Hardest Gymnastics Moves
The Produnova is the hardest vault in women’s gymnastics. The gymnast runs toward the table, launching forward and flipping three times before landing. It takes daring to perform this, the most difficult vault.
Other challenging moves include: the Biles, a double-twisting double backflip combining height, power and technique; the Silivas, with two flips and two full twists. And beam dismounts like the back-full, a back salto with a full twist, requiring extreme precision solely on the beam.
History of Gymnastics
Friedrich Ludwig Jahn created the first organized gymnastics program in 1811. He is considered the grandfather of gymnastics. The first gymnast was also a German man, Friedrich Ludwig Jahn.
Starting Gymnastics
Basic moves like balancing on one foot can be learned to start gymnastics. Balances should first be practiced on the floor before the beam. Elite is the top level, achieved by only 2% of gymnasts. Many start gymnastics at age 12 or even 20 and can compete as long as they like.
Injuries in Gymnastics
While beneficial for flexibility and strength, the impact of gymnastics can also cause injuries. Safety is key. Still the daring moves inspire, like the Produnova, one of the most extreme in this dangerous sport full of extreme stunts.
