A YouGov poll last year found over a quarter of Britons have tattoos. Younger people are more likely to be inked. One in three workers have at least one. The most common ethnicity among tattoo artists is White, followed by Hispanic or Latino and Black or African American.
Global Tattoo Trends
Research indicated that Americans and Swedes prefer multiple tattoos. Of the top three countries, Americans have over four tattoos. Australia and Argentina have 43% with at least one tattoo. Spain has 42% with at least one tattoo.
The Italian population is the most tattoo-friendly, about 48% have tattoos. With 47%, tattooed are also in Sweden no minority. People 18 to 29 years old are most likely to have tattoos.
Attraction and Cultural Perspectives
64% of women are attracted to men with tattoos. South Korea bans tattoos. Japan has a complicated history with tattoos. New Zealand Maori people have a rich history of tattoos.
Millennials and Tattoos
38% of Millennials have 1-6 tattoos. Half have 2-5 tattoos and 18% have over 6 tattoos. Tattoos are an outlet for their creativity. They use tattoos to prove to themselves and others that a changing world is no match.
