Coffee Origins
Coffee originated in Ethiopia around the 9th century from a goat herder named Kaldi who first discovered the effects of the coffee plant. Though no evidence confirms the origin details, Ethiopia remains the agreed upon birthplace. The coffee plants seeds found inside the cherry fruit are referred to as coffee beans. These seeds are processed, roasted, and ground to produce the popular global coffee beverage.
