Early Career and Webflow’s Inception
Vlad Magdalin is the co-founder of Webflow, a no-code platform which allows people to build websites without coding. His career began in computer science and fine arts. After working at design agencies, Vlad realized the limitations of website builders, which led him to start Webflow.
Webflow’s Growth and Impact
Initially, Vlad tried doing Webflow three times before succeeding. Webflow now serves over 200,000 users including NASA, Dell, and MTV. It has over $70 million in financing and 200 employees globally.
Freelancing and Vision for Webflow
Vlad reflects on the highs and lows as a freelancer. He started freelancing to pay expenses while launching a startup. Vlad found clients and advertised himself, with some graphic design skills. He calls it an exercise in humiliation.
Today, Webflow is nearing $100 million in revenue, doubling this year’s projected $20 million run rate. Vlad’s dedication convinced me to join. A guy driven by believing in the necessity of his product after years of developing it. Vlad wanted to "democratize the web," making it accessible for non-coders like me.
