K1 Speed is a company that operates go-kart tracks. Co-founded in 2003 by David Danglard and Susan Danglard, K1 Speed opened its first track in San Diego. The company has over 70 locations across 10 countries.
The electric karts can reach speeds up to 45 mph, while junior karts reach 20 mph. K1 Speed offers tracks for casual consumers, enthusiasts, and corporate events. Tracks are around a quarter mile long.
Racers must wear closed-toe shoes and tie back long hair. Jeans, shorts, and sneakers are appropriate. Karts have zero emissions and no exposed hot parts.
Each location has a unique track. The cost for a family of four is $180 for three 7-10 minute races.
