Understanding Reiki Healing
Since the primary concept of Reiki healing is to channel the universal energy and use it to aid relaxation in the body, you may feel deeply calm and relaxed after the Reiki session. Reiki helps get rid of all the accumulated stress in the body and aids emotional healing. Feeling tired after a Reiki session is a common experience. Tiredness usually lifts within a few hours, and by the next day you are likely to feel more energized and better than before the treatment. Feeling tired after Reiki means you need more Reiki; it can take a few sessions to get rested enough to see the benefits of energy block removal. If you feel tired after Reiki, listen to your body, rest and sleep. Keep hydrated and don’t do anything to take you out of your calm, relaxed state.
It’s normal to have diverse responses after Reiki — some feel peaceful, others emotional, some tired, others energized. Embrace your post-Reiki sensations, for they show healing is underway. When practicing Reiki as a beginner, using your own energy instead of source energy will make you feel depleted quickly. It’s important you connect to source energy and act as the path from that energy to the receiver.
The level of energy cleared and your sensitivity will affect how you feel after treatment. People may feel energized, lighter, more balanced, or clearer. My client Sam felt very tired after a session because his body was releasing old stuck energy and needed additional rest to fully integrate the changes and restore balance. Sleepiness after Reiki can be seen as a positive sign of healing.
Understanding Fatigue in Healing
Why does healing make you tired? This is because your body expends a lot of energy afterward trying to heal. There is an immune response that kicks in, which can be physically draining as well. The healing process requires a lot of energy from the body. To heal effectively, the body needs to create new cells, move cells around, break down and dispose of waste, and increase blood flow to the area of healing. All this requires energy in the form of calories, leaving you tired after healing. The psychological element of healing can lead to exhaustion too. Despite modern medicine, healing is a waiting game, and remaining positive while waiting for a wound or illness to heal can be difficult.
Spiritual Healing and Fatigue
Can spiritual healing make you tired? Spiritual awakening can lead to increased sensitivity to your surroundings and emotions which may result in fatigue. This process can cause vivid dreams that interrupt your sleep and leave you feeling tired. Spiritual awakening often involves deep introspection, which can be mentally taxing and lead to feelings of tiredness. It is important to listen to your body and give yourself time to rest and heal after such an experience.
