Upholstery comes from the Middle English word upholder, which referred to an artisan who makes fabric furnishings. Upholstery is the work of providing furniture, especially seats, with padding, springs, webbing, and fabric or leather covers. A person who works with upholstery is called an upholsterer.
Types of Upholstery
Upholstery can refer to materials used in automobiles, airplanes, and boats as well. Smart upholstery describes smart textiles that aim at increased durability and easy maintenance but also decor and odor resistance. Upholstery components include the description, support, and comfort layers. Polyester fabric is durable, easy to clean, and abrasion-resistant.
Upholstered Furniture Description
Upholstered furniture means any stuffed article used for sitting, resting, or reclining. Upholstered furniture includes children’s furniture, fitness and exercise equipment, furniture used solely for physical fitness and exercise, and medical equipment, as well as furniture or seats in RVs, boats, or automobiles.
